“Pithoragarh” renowned for its natural beauty lies in the eastern most part of Himalayas in Uttarakhand. Pithoragarh district was carved out of Almora on 24 February 1960. This is a small valley at an altitude of 1645m above the sea level replete with mountains, forests, waterfalls. The district shares international borders with Tibet in the North and Nepal on the east. Pithoragarh is a small valley about 5km long and 2km wide. Kumaoni, Hindi and English are the three main languages spoken in this region .
